It's a mostly cozy management game where you slowly rebuild a ruined inn, choosing how you spend you time. The day is divided up into mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights - and weekends have their own events as well.
You also need to keep the surrounding area clear of monsters, equipping yourself with weapons and spells and engaging in turn based dice-combat. There are a variety of weapons, armors, and spells to buy, learn, and upgrade.
The Game takes place over a year, and starts in the summer. Each season is about 90 days long, and has its own gameplay associated with it.

Meal prep rework - invite all of your companions to dinner!
New menu when preparing dinner. While Lucy will always be invited, you can now choose to invite the other companions as well.
Each companion will increase the cost of making food slightly. Ellie and Ailis increase food cost by +1 each, Scout adds +1 Alcohol cost, and Willow +1 Reagents.
If you have desserts available, you can choose to serve desert.
If you have ritual spells unlocked and some reagents, you can enchant the meal.
Companions will increase their Bond, Mood, and Affinity if invited.
Serving Dessert and Enchanting the meal will each increase the bonuses received.

This build includes the brand new patrol system, and comes with a lot of content centered around that system. There are 5 new points of interest to visit and explore, some new NPCs, new events and reworked balance.
This update really effects the core progression of the game, so I really do recommend starting a new save to check it out. It might still work fine with a late game save, but not a lot of testing was done with anything past the first winter.
There will be a lot more added to this system in the next few updates, including the ability to post bounties so that adventurers can help you clear out monsters in the forest. There will also be a variety of night events and points of interest for scout to explore.
Because this new system changes a lot, I'm expecting there to be bugs I didn't catch in my playtesting. Please let me know what breaks, and I'll get it fixed as soon as I'm able.

Alpa 1.5 Patch Notes
Added
-New SFX. Highlights include Scout's spells, fog ambiance, and many inn sounds.

-Complete redraw of Ellie's second sex scene

-Scout's maximum affinity is now 400, and all of her skill tree is available.
-Scout will occassionally pay you a nighttime visit when she gets hungry.
-Scout's current bloodpool is visible on her companion page (only after she admits to her true nature)
-Craftable blood vials. These are quick-use items that give Scout +30 blood in combat.

-A bunch of events have new art
-As the temperature decreases, there's a cold effect that creeps in on the edges of the screen
-A button beside the temperature bar that allows you to instantly burn chopped wood (instead of having to wait until evening).
-High level army reputation unlocks:

Battle Heal and Incinerate Spells.
-New Spell: Battle Heal. High mana cost spell that heals you and removes the bleed status.
-New Spell: Incinerate. Powerful attack spells that burns an enemy, denying their ability to regenerate.
-New Enemy: The Wight.
- The Wight is the games first boss, although it is more of a mini-boss. It has 2 phases, and will require some preparation and heavy firepower to bring it down.
-New item category: Forge
- Forge items will tie into the upcoming forge mechanics.

Alpha 1.2 Patch Notes
Added
-Fall Gameplay changes:
-The Capital's army is moving through the area, heading to the Ashlands.
Command staff will be staying at the inn for a while. This will use up to 8 of your rooms.
Lucy will stay hidden while fractured for fear of discovery.
The Army tracks reputation. Treating the soldiers and command staff well during their stay will increase this reputation.
Increasing your army reputation will give you access to passive bonuses, new events, and new skills to spend experience on.
-There are new army guests that can show up in the inn:
- Army Veterans, Army Clerics, Army mages, Army Sappers, Army Infantry, Army Riflemen, Army Greatswords
-New Loot: Army Dog Tags. Sell them to the bounty officers for gold and army reputation.
-New Army NPCs - Runa, The Captain, and the Lieutenant.
-New Conversation topics with Lucy.
-New Sex Scene (Lucy)
-New Events while out on patrol.
-UI animations to draw attention to high road danger and low temperatures.

- Alternate Fall Start. You can start around day 65 with some skills, inn upgrades, and quests already completed. This will provide a softer start to the game, and drop you a little closer to the new content.
- Full screen mode added. Press alt+enter to enable full screen (or toggle it back off). (note, it works once you are in the game, not from the main menu. for now. I'll improve the functionality in the next update)
-**1.21 specific You can buy supplies from the quartermaster on weekends when serving command staff or soldiers at check-in.

-Optimized how events + sex scenes are handled on the back end. There may be new bugs associated with these changes, let me know if you encounter anything weird.

**Alpha 1.1 Patch Notes

Katana Weapon.
Hardplate Armor.
-New weapon and armor traits. These are passives to help differentiate gear.
Daggers and the Katana deal 2x damage on crits instead of 1.5x
Greatsword gains +1 damage for each dice in your power pool.
Axes will remove physical defense dice from enemies damaged by them.
Hardplate defense dice can't roll lower than 3.
-Night Patrols with Scout.
You can now patrol with Scout during the night.
Scout replaces Lucy as your combat companion during these patrols.
Scout has her own abilitis to aid you in combat.
Life Drain. Deals magic damage, and restores some of your health.
Hypnotize: Dazes the enemy for 1 round.
Feed: Low damage physical attack, restores blood points to Scout equal to damage dealt.
Rupture: Medium physical damage, also applies the rend status.
-Scout can apply two new status effects to your enemies:
Rend: When you rend a target, they will lose 1 of their physical defense dice.
Dazed: if you daze an enemy, they will have 0 physical defense on their next turn.
-New enemies come out at night. All three of these are nasty as hell - so come prepared!
- These new enemies are very hard to kill compared to anything else. They are also completely optional.
-New monster abilities:
Regenerate: an enemy with regenerate recovers 10% of their hit points every turn.
Manaburn: You'll lose mana equal to half the damage dealt to you.
-During the fall, Lucy will stay out of sight in the evenings if fractured.
-Fall Merchant changes:
Supply merchant renamed to quartermaster.
Bounty Officer added. Sell them monster loot for gold.
-The way road danger works during the fall has changed. It will never be reduced to 0, but can never raise to maximum either (merchants will always be available on the weekend).

Fixes
-Cleaned up night time interactions code. I'm hunting down a handful of sequence break bugs, and this will help.

Alpha v1.02 HotFix
Just some quick fixes to address issues brought up.
Unless this patch seriously breaks things, the next fixes will show up in the next major patch. Thanks! (I also included one free bonus event)
**Alpha v1.01
Added**
-New Companion system. Hired NPCs have had their roles increased substantially.
Each NPC tracks affinity and interest in more detail.
Each NPC has an individual skill tree.
Each NPC has unlockable passives with quality of life improvements.
NPCs have a new event system that progresses their story.
*Not all of the skills and events are implemented yet, but they are on the way. I've included notes in game when events / content are missing to reduce confusion.

-New Monsters - You might start to see the undead wandering the forest. The cause is anyone's guess.
-New Weather Event: Fog. Exploring the forest takes longer, and you're more likely to run into trouble.
-New Forest Events. The Undead are causing some trouble.
-New Quest. Discover the source of the undead and figure out what can be done about it.
-Combat Status Effects: Some enemies are now able to poison and bleed you. Sorry.
-Poison: Deals 5 points of damage at the start of every turn. Cannot take your last point of health.
-Bleed: Halves the dice roll results when attacking, blocking and dodging. Bonus dice are unaffected.
-Both status effects clear at the end of combat, and can be cleared by taking the Recover action (once per fight).
-New sex scene with Scout.
