Lucid Lust is an adults-only game that offers a highly customizable and immersive storytelling experience. v0.4.8M

Go limitless
Previously, you could only play with pre-coded "safe" slider values, and an (unclear) off-limit toggle switch was letting you go a little bit beyond those set limits. This has been fully reworked and is now replaced with a new TRUE off-limits system, simply enter the value you desire in the box input to make any slider go up (or down) to that number.

Better yet, this new value is now the new slider's maximum/minimum so you can play with it to still get a precise result. Not happy with the new limit you set? Simply type another value! Also, if you type any value that would be in between the old limits (for example, zero), the slider will come back to its old self. This is the easiest and most intuitive truly off-limit system I could come up with, and I hope you will like it! Also, shape sliders are now instantiated during runtime, this will add new possibilities in the future (e.g.: mod support for shapes)!

New Piercings System
Made a new CPU skinning system for piercings to go along the new limitless system, now piercings will follow vertexes, meaning that face piercings are now possible and will be precisely and dynamically animated along facial animations and deformations!

When selecting a piercing zone, a small blue transparent orb will appear to show you the exact attachment point of the said piercing. For now, only the lips zones are selectable, this is because I want to have users' feedback on the new piercings system before implementing it everywhere!

The arbitrary goal I've fixed for the new piercing attachment system is 18 face piercings + 10 ear piercings, you can see those decided piercing zones highlighted in yellow on the pink picture I posted along with this post. If any of you feel like 28 head-piercing zones is not enough, please let me know haha!

Adding stuff, optimizing, and staying future-proof
I've been working a lot on new systems to add more realism and freedom to every creation process, but some of these new implementations (e.g: the new hair system) needed more calculations from the GPU. People with low-end GPUs who could run the game before couldn't suddenly because of the new demanding GPU tasks of the latest version, so I thought about the biggest GPU workload: the rendering itself! So now I added a new optimization option to the main menu Settings called "Render Quality", this is the first iteration and can be improved even more later! You should now be able to select the render quality of the game's cameras, from the default unprocessed 100% quality to the 35% treated! I hope that you will like this new addition, and I encourage you to try it even if you don't "need" it, just to see how many FPS you can gain (and to also tell me if it's working for you haha).

New Options

  • You can now show the FPS counter wherever you are by simply pressing F2

  • You can also show your current config by pressing F3 (useful to make screenshot reports)

  • Added a 5th hair color option (balayage, working like inverse streaks)

  • Added custom color to eyes' veins

  • Added iris ring force value slider (working with eyeballs texture-based values)

  • Added 3 new values to the face (freckles, moles, marks; all revolving around one RGB mask texture)

  • Added the said RGB mask texture option (only one for now, until I make sure it works the same for everybody)

Mod support improved

Now, you can easily have multiple mods with the same name in-game. A new function added to the mod is an annotation system. If you name your mod "Clown Face#123", only the "Clown Face" will be set as the title of your selectable item.

For example, these files can coexist while showing the same name in-game:

  • "Dancing_Clown#byLucidDev.png"

  • "Dancing Clown#byLucidDev.png"

  • "Dancing_Clown# by lucid dev v2.png"

If you want to have color selection squares like there are for non-mod selectables, now you can too! All you need to do is to add a hex color code between brackets [] at the end of every texture named the same. If textures named the same have a color code, then they will have color squares for easy selection! Of course, you are not obliged to make color variants, you could simply have several textures in one selection button for easy access.

Example:

  • "Face_Tattoo#Pack1[FF0000].png"

  • "Face_Tattoo#Pack1[000000].png"

  • "Face_Tattoo#Pack1[FF00FF].png"

Will show one option named "Face Tattoo" with only one .jpg selection texture named "Face_Tattoo#Pack1.jpg" with 3 colored squares that will enable the selection of the three said textures.

I added a full-face makeup mod called Dancing_Clown#byLucidDev to this version to demonstrate this new feature. Mods are still located at [Lucid Lust_Data/mods/..], please ignore the new mods subfolders for now, they are not fully implemented yet.

Quality of Life

  • Added visual preset options to some shapes windows (will add presets to everything down the line)

  • Replace the old left dropdown menu with an icon column

  • Unified movable windows into one to go along their respective visual menus

  • Added a size slider to the movable window so you can change its size on the go without the need for a setting window

  • Made the size slider keep its size during use and computed new window size to limit them to the current screen size

Haircut 2.0 – Fully Physical Hair!
⦁ Haircuts are now more realistic than ever and are fully strand-based, with 500k+ individual strands rendered in real-time.

⦁ Haircuts can automatically adjust to the head shape (with the option to toggle this on or off per character).

⦁ Customize the style of haircuts with 4 sliders—two for front/back size and two for left/right size.

⦁ Some haircuts will now be shared across character types, meaning you’ll find the same styles available for males, females, and future futas. This feature is perfect for those interested in creating transformation scenarios!

Since hair physics is haircut-dependent, I can tweak individual haircuts based on feedback. If a haircut doesn’t feel right, let me know, and I’ll look into improving it.

Visual Menus Are Coming!
Now introducing visual menus, starting with the Hair and Makeup windows!

These menus are not only more visually appealing but also much easier to navigate than previous sliders. Plus, you can now organize your haircuts by length and find them easily with a new tag system!

If you notice a missing tag—say, you’re searching for Vincent Vega’s iconic look and "Travolta" doesn’t work—let me know, and I’ll add the tag! I’m confident this new search system will shine as we add more options, especially when we hit 100+ haircuts.

Mod Support Begins!
Mod support is now available—starting with male makeup! This is the first step in integrating mods into Lucid Lust, with plans to expand it further in future versions.

Here’s how it works: Simply place your .png texture in the designated directory inside Lucid Lust_Data/mods, and it will show up in the character creator, couldn't make it easier!

Want a custom button for your mod in the new visual menu? Add a .jpg with the same name as your texture in the same directory, and it’ll appear in the interface. If no .jpg is provided, a default icon will appear, but your texture will still be usable.

For this version, I’ve manually added a few basic mods into the new mods folder. These mods were created quickly and aren't very polished, they’re just meant to give you a simple demonstration of how the modding system works (they are in no way a good practice guide since I had the nerves to make an eyeshadow named "8K heavy clouds" that is an 8000x8000 2.3Mo texture hahaha).

There’s no strict limit to the texture size you can use. While it’s best to stick with power-of-2 textures (e.g., 64x64, 128x128, 256x256, etc.) for optimal performance, the system automatically stretches any texture into a square. So even if you upload something like a 10x80px, it’ll still work just fine!

Saving and Loading Modded Characters
Modded characters can be saved and loaded like other characters. These characters will be marked with a "[mods in use]" tag, and the "Copy Code" button will be replaced with an "[M]" logo to indicate that you can’t generate a code for them (yet). However, modded characters will be fully usable in Lucid Lust, including in sharable Scenarios.

Handling Missing Mods
If you attempt to load a modded character without the required mod, the game will substitute the missing texture with the last successfully loaded one.

If the mod is heavy or your computer is slow, the mod loading can take up to several seconds (but it's done in the background, meaning you will not get any freeze from it). In the future, there will be an error message telling you what mod is missing, while still being able to go through with the current workaround if you ever desire. However, missing mods will prevent players from playing a Scenario, and the game will give them a list of the files they need to acquire to be able to play the Scenario; this is to make sure Scenarios are played with the proper files installed.

Creating Mods
I plan to create a Mod Creator Kit once most of the mod categories are in place. This kit will include UV-mapped character pieces, a Unity asset (aka development kit), templates, and more. For now, Daz Male Genesis 8 face textures should work with male characters, but know that the UV has been modified so that the full face without the ears is the makeup texture layer.

Other Updates and Quality of Life Improvements

Known issues
Haircut Compatibility: Some haircuts may not behave correctly with certain head shapes. This is expected and can be fixed using the "Follow Head Shape" toggle at the bottom of the haircut window. With this toggle and the 3D sliders, you should be able to adjust any haircut to fit any head!

Dick Functionality: The dick system still isn’t fully working—saving and loading issues persist. Improvements are in progress, but it’s not quite ready yet.

UI Bugs: You may encounter some UI glitches (hair color and tan amount don't sync on load among other things for now). This is normal as I'm currently revamping the system to support the new visual menus. I’ll also be overhauling the camera system soon to better integrate with these menus.

Other Bugs: A lot has been reworked from the ground up since the last update, so there might be a few new bugs I'm not aware of. If you run into any issues, please don’t hesitate to report them!

New Screenshot System
People were demanding an integrated way to take screenshots, so I made the first iteration of a screenshot system for the Scenario Creator, it has been added to the right panel.

Your Screenshots are located in :
For Windows:
[(Lucid Lust.exe folder)/Lucid Lust_Data/LucidLustScreenshots]
For Mac: [Application Support/com.Lucid-Lust.Lucid-Lust]
For Linux: [$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/unity3d] or [$HOME/.config/unity3d]

Screenshot folders follow the same naming convention on all platforms: "Resolution[resolution]" + Screenshot "LucidLust[version][Date][ID]"
For now, you get to choose your screenshot resolution and that's about it.

Mac and Linux shouldn't be limited by screen/display size, but Windows sadly is, due to a built-in limitation not letting applications have a higher resolution than the display (even in windowed mode); I will try my best to override that Windows limitation in the future.

Time pauses while the screenshot is processing + UI and cursor are ignored; with some CPU, creating and saving a 4K-8K screenshot can take some time, so please be patient! And don't hesitate to force quit the app if the workload is too heavy for your config.

I also added a simple button to upload the last taken screenshot to Imgur! The upload process is done in the background so you can still use Lucid Lust while it's processing (useful if you have a bad internet connection for example). No Imgur account is needed, it will automatically upload your screenshot to a Lucid Lust repository (hidden by default) with auto hashtags indicating the application version it was taken in. Once the upload is done it will open your image link in your default browser! This is for now the easiest way I found for easy screenshot sharing, in the future, there will be a lot more options, including connecting your own accounts for uploads (including all social media and other Imgur-like sites)!

100% of your scenario can be saved & loaded now!

That's right; the full save & load system has been implemented! Creating, saving, sharing, it's there! You now have a "Scenarios" folder in the game's root folder, a scenario is stored in two files. Your scenarios aren't stored anywhere else, don't delete them by accident! On a newer version, you will simply have to move your scenarios to the new version Scenarios folder, that's it!

Highest Compatibility

The Scenarios you make right now in version v0.3.9 will be compatible with every future version. Including v1.0 Scenario Player! In the future, to update your scenarios, you will simply have to load them in the Scenario Creator of the newest version, that's it! And from v1.0, as promised, no updating will ever be needed for your scenarios to work even with v5.0 haha.

Highly unoptimized

The Save & Load system will be greatly optimized in the future, the main goal was to have the system both ready and expandable ASAP! The more items you will have in your scenario, the longer the saving system will take. The entire step is saved on numerous occasions, including each step change! This will not affect the Scenario Player, since no save will ever need to occur + loading global values will be done only once.

The saving process will be 7 to 10 times faster in the future (with an optimized structure + saving only modified features).

More control over Scenarios lights!

Revamped the global light system (in the weather menu) to enable window light color to be different from the sun, made the system fully step-dependent (not global) enabling full control over the time of the day at runtime. As for everything else, easy overwrite functions will come later!

Other changes

  • Added a new graphic setting for the skin (aimed for compatibility with low-range GPU).

  • Added a first tutorial iteration on Scenario Creator startup.

Quality of Life Improvements:

  • Windows default positions are now all vertically centered
  • Scenario Sliders Window is now only named Scenario in the Dropdown menu (to keep it short)
  • Newly saved Lucid Girl will now generate a code storing its version
  • Old codes will be marked as old until saved again in v0.0.95 or higher
  • Hex codes are in addition to being interpreted, generated whenever you move a color slider
  • You can input hex codes with or without #, and with or without upper cases
  • You can now copy/paste custom colors and values
  • To keep reasonable window sizes, drawer menus have been implemented

Graphics Improvements:

  • Added Hair Quality options to the Graphics Settings
  • Skins textures have been cleaned and streamlined
  • You can now press F5/F6 to enable/disable current haircut shadows

Bug Fixed:

  • Fullscreen UIs are now fully covering extra wide screen ratios
  • Breasts Gravity Slider has been revamped due to a float imprecision error
  • Fixed Eyebrows Bump not showing
